Q4 2026 Release Notes
October - December 2026
Footage search
- Find footage turns descriptions such as animals in the back yard or a person wearing a red hat into search filters. Review the selected locations, time and detections before opening the results.
- Searches such as a person walking a brown dog keep the animal's colour and require both detections. Appearance filters include brown and beige, with six colours per row; subject tabs switch controls without reloading the results.
- Calendar ranges and daily hours work together, such as mornings throughout June. Date changes keep the other interpreted filters.
- Optional examples use the current cameras and analytics. A microphone accepts dictation in supported browsers, and the compact mobile search button sits beside the active filters.
Detections
- The daily people counting chart stops at yesterday, so today's unfinished count no longer creates a misleading drop. Today's counts remain available in the totals and selected-day view.
- People counting charts use distinct blue, orange, green and purple lines for people, bicycles, vehicles and animals, with entries above zero and dashed exits below zero. Filled legend buttons show the selected classes; outlined buttons show hidden classes. Each button controls both directions, and the summary titles and counts follow the selection.
- Events links on people counting rows now select the row's camera, class and time period, making it easier to review the relevant activity.
- Line charts show fewer, horizontal date and time labels on small screens so the axis remains readable while every point stays available.
- Event icons show one icon per person, vehicle, bicycle, truck or animal class: moving takes priority over stationary, then the general class icon. Events with TetherBox AI also omit general motion icons, keeping the detection strip easier to read.
- TetherBox AI reports bicycles as their own detection, alongside people, vehicles and animals. The events filter, the people counting page and footage search all offer Bicycle; a cyclist is reported as a person and a bicycle, so people figures already include every rider. Bicycles carry no colour.
- A TetherBox running TetherX AI records which animal and which vehicle it saw: a dog, cat, bird or other animal, and a car, motorcycle, bus, truck or other vehicle. The Appearance filter offers Kind of animal and Kind of vehicle beside Colour, so a brown dog or a white bus is one search, and footage search narrows a request such as "my cat in the back yard" to cats. A kind appears in the filter once a camera on the timeline has recorded one. Events recorded before a TetherBox reported kinds have none on record, so a search for animals or vehicles still finds them.
Sign-in
- Sign in with Google opens the Google account chooser instead of an error page.
- Account activation emails make the activation link available as both a button and a copyable URL.
Live View
- Floating PTZ controls start collapsed when they are too tall for a camera tile. The PTZ header remains available to open them.
Cameras
- Camera Rules includes a visual Automations builder with five guided steps: choose what to watch, draw a named region, set the conditions, select actions and review before saving. Animated transitions follow your progress and respect reduced motion settings. Combine person-count conditions with All or Any, set how long they must hold and choose the active hours independently of arming.
- Automations can notify selected TetherX users, email an address, play a saved or newly recorded message, control a reported PicoFlex output, or activate supported camera deterrents. Garrison activates the siren and strobe on selected site cameras. Rules show their loading status and recent results; matching TetherBox software is required.
Automation setup checks whether TetherBox AI is enabled and Only Monitor is off before opening the builder. Multiple conditions offer “Every condition must be true” or “Any condition can trigger it”, with visible AND/OR connections. The Rules tab groups line-crossing guidance, compatibility and today's counts with clearer typography.
Camera lists show product photos for more Hikvision, Dahua, Axis, Uniview, Merit LILIN, TP-Link and FVS models. Several photos that showed packaging or feature graphics now show the product itself.
Languages
- Italian is now available as an interface language. Choose it from the language menu in the top bar. Screens, emails and messages are translated; help articles remain in English.
Tables
- Mobile navigation includes the same available pages as desktop. More opens every additional page, including Counting and Rules where permitted.
- The snapshot processing confirmation no longer mentions cloud backup status.
- Slow storage warnings now show a gauge icon alongside the warning badge.
- Events in List view now show individual selection checkboxes before any events are selected.
- Column selection menus now appear above the filter sidebar when opened near the left edge of a table.
- Map callouts cover the legend button when they overlap, and site windows appear above the map.
Audit trail
- Status refreshes, Microchip state reads, alarm log reads, map callouts, context menus and loading Live View controls no longer add audit entries. Relay commands remain recorded.
Windows
- Pop-up windows fit the height of the browser window. Long content scrolls inside the window, and the buttons at the bottom, such as Apply and Save, stay visible on shorter screens.
TetherBox storage
- The Storage tab identifies RAID members and hides their Format buttons, including when the array is unmounted. Each array shows its capacity, usage, active members and check or recovery progress in one row. This requires matching TetherBox and cloud updates.
- Factory Reset and Move to Timeline show help through an info icon inside a single button surface, keeping the hold instructions and progress visible on mobile. Online and offline controls use matching spacing, preserve their disabled appearance and wrap on smaller screens.
- The Storage tab keeps drive-format progress visible in the drive table without widening Health for every TetherBox. When no format is running, the health labels sit together. Once the formatted drive reports In Use, the completed message clears; an empty new drive shows 0% used instead of Unknown.
- The Storage tab shows Ejected for a drive deliberately powered off during the current boot. If that drive is removed while the TetherBox is off, the next boot shows Unplugged. A drive that stops reporting during a boot without a known cause shows Not detected; a USB device with no media or a drive that does not answer keeps its more specific status.
- The Drives page reads the KingSpec NT-1TB 2242 SSD's remaining life correctly, so a new drive with 0% endurance used no longer appears to have exhausted its life.
- The Drives page recognises more SSD models and names their health readings using the latest smartmontools drive database.
- The TetherBox page shows Hailo processor utilisation when the unit reports a reading. Units without an accelerator show no Hailo row.
The memory usage hint on a TetherBox now shows its total memory when the unit reports it.
USB enclosure details, partition counts and detected devices now appear in the drive table. Drives with saved details show partition counts in the information popover instead of repeating the model beneath the drive name. Storage faults remain visible alongside drive health, without a separate USB storage table.
The Drives page marks a connected drive that is not being used for storage as Unused, and the State filter has an Unused option to list only those drives.
IP devices
- PicoFlex Microchip boards show input readings, relay controls and raw board state on the device's API tab. The MicroChip guide walks through mapping analogue and digital sensors to camera events and email alerts.
Patriot Systems
- Alarms now send a link to the full TetherX event instead of an image attachment, so control room operators can open the event directly from Patriot.
- Observed, No Action Taken and Report Sent now reach Patriot as operator notes. Clearing either tick is recorded there too.
